Shaping Fort Collins’ Operations and Long-Term Vision
On Wednesday, June 8th, Rotary meets in person at the Lincoln Center. Following an introduction by Bill Timpson, we will welcome Claudia Menéndez, who serves as Fort Collins’ inaugural chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer following her appointment in July, 2021. In her role, our guest is tasked with creating and building the city’s chief diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) office, with the goal of increasing Fort Collins’ ability to support DEI work, both within the ranks of the City staff, and externally.
RECAP: Conserving Urban Wildlife, Connecting people with Nature, and Environmental Justice
For our Zoom meeting on June 1, Dr. Charles Nilon joined us from the University of Missouri to talk with us about “Conserving Urban Wildlife, Connecting People with Nature, and Environmental Justice”. Del Benson introduced Dr. Nilon by highlighting his interest in the interface between wildlife and people and pointing out that Dr. Nilon has worked with some 150 cities around the world in this area. Dr. Nilon grew up in Boulder, CO, where he developed his interest in wildlife and the natural environment.
Following the Wednesday meeting at the Lincoln Center, the History Fellowship will meet, and the topic will be "Perspectives on Historic Gun Violence in America." All are welcome!

Community Service Committee name changing
Our Community Service Committee is changing their name to the Volunteer Service Committee. The Committee will continue in same role, coordinating our volunteer service in the local community. Check out some of their past activiites and their Committee Charter. Please contact Jon Land if you would like to get involved.
For our noon Lincoln Center meetings, please pre-purchase guest lunches on Eventbrite. Please also use Eventbrite to purchase lunches if you normally attend our evening meeting or in the noon beverage only category.
