Engage Rotary of Fort Collins

Club members have many opportunities for humanitarian service. Service programs address such concerns as health care, hunger, poverty, illiteracy, and the environment. Rotarians experience the fulfillment that comes from giving back to the community. Here are a few of the local programs the Rotary Club of Fort Collins have been involved in:

Twenty-five students in need, identified by their teachers, were awarded quality boots & coats provided at a deeply discounted price by JAX Outdoor Gear. There are several positive impacts to the students: they will stay warm & dry in inclement weather; can participate in outdoor activities; and enjoy increased self-esteem due to the quality of the coats & boots provided. COVID protocols did not allow for Rotarian participation in distributing the gear, but a local Rotarian was able to help select hats & gloves to add for those in need.  The Rotary Club of Fort Collins had applied for and received a District Governors Matching Grant of $1,000 to support the Clubs $500 commitment for the local Boots & Coats program in November.
Rotary Club of Fort Collins purchased and collected toiletry items for Homeward Alliance to distribute at their next Family Resource Fair.  This week, we filled 200 bags! We had 12 people and were able to spread out on 4 large work stations. Toiletry items are especially needed because these items are not eligible for food stamp redemption nor are they regularly donated to the Food Bank.  Kathy Nicol led the project effort and many Rotarians were involved in donating products/funds and packing the bags, truly a team effort.  Great work team.
