This Wednesday the 24th, our guest speaker will be Max Moss, Colorado president of HF2M, Inc. with the informal title of Chief Community Builder. After an introduction by Dave Stewart, Max will give us the inside story on Montava, not just a new “walkable community", but slated to be one of the largest in northern Colorado.
Homeward Alliance was recently awarded a $7750 Community Grant from RCFC. Homeward Alliance operates a continuum of services for individuals including basic needs, housing-focused case management, behavioral health, and employment programs, and they oversee the Murphy Center, a resource center in Larimer County for people experiencing homelessness.

Freshman Cadet Ashlynn Lutz is an outstanding scholar athlete Air Force ROTC AS100 cadet. Lutz achieved an impressive 3.98 GPA during her first semester at CSU and is one of six freshmen on the Division I CSU women’s soccer team. Upon completing ROTC, she hopes to commission in the Air Force, attend medical school after completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences, and eventually serve as a surgeon.
On March 17th, we were joined, via Zoom from Uppsala, Sweden, by Jordan Matthews, who is attending Uppsala University as a Rotary Peace Fellow, sponsored by District 5440. As a Peace Fellow, she is working on a MSSc in Peace and Conflict Studies at Uppsala University. On one of her first slides, she pointed out that the Rotary Peace Fellowship is An Investment in Peace.
During his first meeting as President, Del Benson outlined his priorities and thoughts for RY 2020-21. He touched on the challenges of declining noon membership and the resultant reduction in income and charitable pledges to support our service mission. Del then outlined his priorities and a "U+2" Time, Talent and Treasure Challenge for every member:
Bring in two new members
Double contributions to Rotary funding needs
Help on two funding initiatives
Give time to two additional service projects
Organize new projects and outcomes
Attend two more meetings every quarter
Combine categories engaging U+2 and have twice the fun and accomplishments
The Science and Engineering Fellowship meets immediately following this Wednesday's noon meeting (same Zoom link). President Del Benson will talk on Seeing, Seizing and Acting on Opportunities". All are welcome!
The membership application of Judge Juan G. Villaseñor has been approved by RCFC's Board of Directors. Villaseñor currently serves as 8th Judicial District Judge, and is sponsored by Stacy Plemmons. Any comments regarding Judge Villaseñor's candidacy should be in writing to club secretary Kathy Nicol or to his sponsor by March 31, one week after this notification appears in the Rotogear.

President Del Benson announced a $10,000 donation to the RCFC Legacy Fund from David Everitt and the Everitt family, in support of the Good and Lucky Non-Event! This brings the total raised to $70,000, plus a $19,000 matching grant for the United Way Fire Relief fund! Total raised was $89,000!!Thank you Rotarians for your generous support of our community.
