Army & Air Force ROTC Programs
On May 15th, RCFC will host a Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) presentation. The current Colorado State University Professor of Aerospace Studies, United States Air Force Colonel Gregg Johnson, and current Colorado State University Professor of Military Science, United States Army Lieutenant Colonel Matt Tillman, will connect to provide an overview of their respective ROTC programs. This will be at noon, at the Lincoln Center. The Emma Malaby Grocery is one of Fort Collins’s oldest buildings. In this talk, Meg Dunn will recount the origins of the building, what it was like to live downtown in the 1880s, the moving of the building, our earliest African American community, a tragic murder-suicide, and more. The building was recently donated to Historic Larimer County and is currently being prepared to be opened to the public for the first time in decades. READ MORE...
Last week fellow RCFC member Tony Sundermeier presented the results of a new committee focused on our fundraising events as well as a review of the various opportunities for our members to give through our club – Helping Out – The Rotary Way. The committee was requested by our BOD in large part because our leaders have been getting a lot of questions from members on giving, especially from our many new members. READ MORE...
Katherine graduated from Colorado State in the spring of 2021 and immediately jumped into her career at Lockheed Martin as a Financial Manager for the Orion Program. In this role, she works on Artemis Missions, bringing astronauts back into space. She is on the Advisory Board of Kappa Alpha Theta, overseeing the Finance and Recruitment cabinets. She has been actively giving back to the Fort Collins community her whole life, and has used the 4-way test as a pillar of how to show up in the world. Katherine will attend evening meetings. In this polarized time, we lack basic understanding of why people on the other side hold their beliefs. When we try to communicate across this gap, we often lack the skills for listening carefully, looking for common ground, and sharing our perspectives in ways that connect rather than create more misunderstanding.
