Teacher of the Year is TUESDAY, NOT WEDNESDAY
On Tuesday (NOT WEDNESDAY) this week Rotary Club of Fort Collins joins the Breakfast and Foothills clubs in honoring three Poudre School District “Teachers of the Year”.  Program starts at noon at the Marriott Hotel.  This is the 23rd year Rotary Clubs have honored Poudre School District teachers.  Each club, in collaboration with the Poudre School District, sponsors a Teacher of the Month, and has selected its Teacher of the Year from among those honored monthly.
RCFC's Teacher of the Year is Krista Brakhage from Poudre High School.  Cesar Fuentes is from Harris Bilingual Immersion School.   Jane Ryan is from Linton Elementary.  RCFC's member Dr Sandra Snyder will speak.
Wesley Grad School Scholarship Announced
The first annual Wesley Award was announced.  Named in honor of Dr. Robert Wesley Titley, the Award is given to a graduate student in Counseling Psychology at Colorado State University.  This year’s $5000 was presented to Morgan Boyle.  The award was established by RCFC member, Bonnie Titley in honor of her late husband.  
Community Grants Presents Check to Easter Seals
Committee Chair Kathy Nicol presented a Community Grants award for $1296 to Kathy Dockery from Easter Seals.  The funding will support attendees at an October 16, shadowing project in cooperation with Larimer County leaders.
RCFC International Programs Update

Last week Robin Steele, Chair of our International Project and Grants (IP&G) Committee presented the annual review of projects and grants that our club has been involved with donations of time and treasure. She was joined by Rajiv Mehta, Dave Stuart and John Trone.

Lynne Baker’s family requests that memorials for her husband, Ron, be sent to the Rotary Foundation.

Dan Ward is in Columbine Rehab Center.  Remember him with cards or visit him there.
The Board Of Directors approved participation in the 2020 Peach Festival.  President Rob summarized the discussion and outlined the factors to be watched closely.

Bill West urged members to attend the Harvest Farm Gest.  Proceeds go aid the homeless and addicted.  Sets of 4 tickets were auctioned off for $50.
Please consider attending the District Assembly October 5 in Cheyenne, and the Leadership Institute in Loveland on October 12.

John Roberts invited members to the Global Village Museum annual gala on Oct. 20.  The Mexican Fiesta is from 4 to 8 at the Country Club.

Del Benson asked anyone interested in being faculty sponsor for Rotoract to contact him.
Our club’s holiday party will be Dec. 18 at the Country Club.  Mark the date!
SPECIAL NOTE:  Kathy Hawkins cautioned not to pay dues AND charities with a single checks.  For charities contributions to be tax-deductible, you must write a separate check.
Kathy Nicol reported that Community Grant applications for the first quarter equaled $45,000.  The total budget for the entire year is $25,000.  If you can contribute to this part of our charities budget, it would be greatly appreciated.

The Finance Committee now meets the 2nd Thursday, and the Board Meeting is the 3rd Thursday each month.  Both meetings are from 3:30 to 5:00 in the Markley Motors Conference room.  All are invited.

President Rob announced that for those wishing to apply for the new "Noon Membership Without Meals" category, a form needs to be completed and submitted to the Membership Committee.

Del Benson reported the Fellowship Committee encourages home fellowship evenings.  Talk to Del if you are interested.
PDG Mike Forney invited retired professionals to join SCORE (Senior Corps Of Retired Executives).  Volunteers work with small business personnel to enhance their business.  Counselors are needed in Ft. Collins.  If interested, contact Mike Forney.
Martin Limbird urged members to attend the Rotary International conference in Hawaii next year, June 6-10.  
Volunteers for greeter coordinator and front desk duty are needed.
Marty Bachman reminds all to report special occasions/events/illness that the Care and Recognition Committee should acknowledge.  Call Marty, Susan Brand, Melanie Chamberlain, or Jeanne Fangman.
