SERVING FORT COLLINS SINCE 1918
Happy 100th, John Matsushima!!
Born just 2 years after RCFC was chartered, this week we celebrate the 100th birthday of our most senior member, John Matsushima.  Our program will celebrate Johnny and his many, many accomplishments and awards.

Johnny joined RCFC in 1969, and has never missed a meeting in his 51 years as a Rotarian, sometimes attending another club when traveling internationally.   Our birthday party will be hosted by Tanis Roeder, who met Johnny when she joined in 2006 as the youngest member.  Johnny was the oldest member, an honor he has held since.

Storm Chaser: The Art in Severe Weather

December 2, local photographer David Mayhew gave us a whirlwind introduction to the practice and art of photographing severe weather.  David started his professional life as a design engineer but an introduction to photography and meteorology at the College of DuPage (near Chicago) led to his current life as a fine-art photographer of weather phenomena.  In his career as a storm chaser, he has witnessed the two widest tornadoes on record at El Reno, Oklahoma, and Hallam, Nebraska.  He has been selected as a judge for the Weather Channel’s annual photography contest.   To view the meeting and presentation CLICK HERE.

President Del's Priorities and Plans
Wednesday July 1, 2020-21 President Del Benson outlined his background, priorities and thoughts for this coming year.  He touched on the challenges of declining noon membership and the resultant reduction in income and charitable pledges to support our service mission.  Del then outlined his priorities and a "U+2" Time, Talent and Treasure Challenge for every member:
  • Bring in two new members
  • Double contributions to Rotary funding needs
  • Help on two funding initiatives
  • Give time to two additional service projects
  • Organize new projects and outcomes
  • Attend two more meetings every quarter
  • Combine categories engaging U+2 and have twice the fun and accomplishments
He closed his remarks with preliminary plans for a "Good and Lucky Non-Event Fundraiser" this fall.  Stay tuned for details...
