On Wednesday, December 8th, at noon at the Lincoln Center, we will hear from Ryan Bailey, a faculty member at CSU in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Our speaker’s research focuses on watershed management to sustain water quantity and quality. For our November 24 in-person noon meeting, rather than having a more traditional speaker, Bill West led us into a series of round-table discussions to elicit member feedback on programs and membership. Our fellowship will meet this week on zoom at 1:30 on Wednesday. Lloyd Thomas will lead the Fellowship discussion on making peace across differences. Please enjoy the December Newsletter and we will see you on Wednesday.
We are pleased to provide you with backgrounds sent by our officers and board candidates so that you can know them a bit better. Meet with them in person at upcoming meetings and Holiday Party.
There is nothing quite like our annual Rotary International Convention. It’s the only opportunity we members get to connect personally with people from around the world, celebrate our works of service together, and collaborate on every level to find solutions to our most pressing challenges. We do all of this at one event — while making memories that will last a lifetime. Rotary will have plenty to celebrate 4-8 June 2022 at our convention in Houston, Texas.
Sincerely, Rotary International President Shekhar Mehta
A team from Engineers without Borders (EWB) Guatemala and the Rotary Club of Lake Atitlán visited the community of El Potrero last week to conduct survey and do an engineering assessment. This project will bring water from two spring sources to a water catchment tank and then distribute the water to 85 homes after purification. This is joint project with EWB Guatemala, EWB Fort Collins Professional Chapter, Lake Atitlan Rotary and our club. We hope to complete the project in the second half of 2022.
