Speed Dating
Happy (Rotary) New Year! Welcome President David Dunne. For our first meeting of the new year, President Dunne will lead us in a “speed dating” exercise focused on understanding committees and their responsibilities. Come learn about the committees that accomplish the work of your Rotary Club. The program will be a one-stop shop to learn, ask questions and join like-minded Rotarians to accomplish the important work that makes our club successful. Each committee will be represented at a table. Moderator (President Dunne), will ring a bell every four minutes to cue attendees to move from table to table and learn about each committee.
At our annual Changing of the Guard meeting, we congratulated the new club officers who will serve for the coming Rotary year (July, 2024 through June, 2025), celebrated the accomplishments of club officers who are leaving their posts, and thanked those officers who will continue in their posts for the coming year. At the start of the Changing of the Guard and with a commendable low-level of references to dad jokes, Del Benson led a roast of “retiring” president Randy Kurtz. Since there were no revelations of any truly embarrassing events, Randy and all the attendees seemed to enjoy this lighthearted review of the president’s accomplishments over the past year. On June 19, the Evening Group of the Rotary Club of Fort Collins celebrated the leadership of Kevin Davie for the past year. The membership has grown for individuals who prefer an evening meeting option, and there have been excellent programs presented. Kevin handed off the Rotary bell and gavel to Tanner Massey, who will lead the Evening Group for 2024-25. Starting in July, they will meet on the second and fourth Wednesdays at 5:30 pm at Purpose Brewing, 4025 S. Mason Street in Fort Collins. READ MORE...
The DEI Fellowship will discuss gender equity on July 3 at 1:15 PM. In 2021, Fortune magazine ran an article entitled, “100% of the jobs the U.S. workforce lost in December belonged to women”. For the July 3rd DEI fellowship, Co-chair Shana Tidrick will lead a discussion on Gender Equity today. She plans to use this Fortune article. Everyone and their data and opinions are welcome. Please join us immediately following the Noon meeting at the Lincoln Center.
