At the 1917 convention, outgoing Rotary president Arch Klumph proposed setting up an endowment “for the purpose of doing good in the world.” That one idea, and an initial contribution of $26.50, set in motion a powerful force that now has assets exceeding $1B and has transformed millions of lives around the globe. Robin Steele, chair, and other members of our club’s Foundation Committee will cover a Foundation 101 overview for newer Rotarians, Updates on The Foundation, Information on Rotary Donor Recognition and Club Donation Recognition, and the various ways our members can contribute with a short tutorial on Planned Giving strategies. We will also recognize the generous donations from a few of our club members and have them share their personal inspirations for their donations.
Our speaker has a B.S. in Computer Science from Utah State University, a M.S. degree in Computer Science and Computer Engineering from the University of Minnesota and an Executive MBA from Northwestern University, Kellogg Graduate School of Management. Robin has led global research and development operations, as well as product and service companies ranging from Fortune 500 businesses to mid-sized local companies to start-ups. She is also dedicated to making a difference in the world through humanitarian projects and STEM advocacy for underrepresented communities.
