Wednesday, August 16th, the Evening Group features Christina Cooper, an officer of the United Way of Larimer County.  Following our speaker’s introduction by Kevin Davie, she will relate how, in July 2022, United Way of Larimer County …”launched an exciting new partnership with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, making high-quality, age-appropriate books accessible to every child age 0-5 in Larimer County”. This program distributes free books to children every month until their 5th birthday, specially addressed to them in the mail at no cost to families. The cost of the program is approximately $30 per child, per year. United Way is fortunate to work alongside its state-level partner, Imagination Library of Colorado, who covers 50% of program costs for each affiliate across the state, making United Way’s cost approximately $15 per child, per year. Since launching the Imagination Library program, current enrollment is about 4800 children, largely in Fort Collins.
In direct support of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, the Rotary Club of Fort Collins is hosting a fundraising event.  The Rotary Golf Classic Fall Fundraiser .  The Golf Committee is is pleased to update that we have filled all of our 27 Corporate and Rotary Sponsored player Foursomes. This component of the Fundraiser has created positive Community branding for our Club as it is highlighting our Club and the good we do.

So what’s next for our Club’s fundraising efforts supporting this great cause that invests in the sustainability of our community, which is also being supported at a 50% involvement in funding by the State of Colorado?  Dollars and funding raised on our Club’s part will haver a booster, subsidized by the State of Colorado, supporting the outcome of the Imagination Library’s effect.  Even though we have sold out our Foursomes, there still is a large component for us to achieve out goal.  Direct donations.  We are trying to raise a net $30,000 dollar amount and our Corporate Sponsorships will not get us there alone.

At this point all costs are covered and all future donations to out Fundraising efforts go directly to the Goal of $30,000. Last year, Rotarians pledged donations of $7,100.  This year we have a smalll group of Rotarians that have pledged Rotarian Corporate non playing sponsorships of $1,000 or more and currently have $5,500 pledged.  Food, Beverage, and Prizes (which attract our Corporate Sponsors) are our biggest expenses that need to be offset in order to reach our $30,000 net donation to DPIL.  It should be noted that Peach Festival is also donating net proceeds to DPIL.  Your Golf Committee is a nimble four person group, and with your help, could potentially raise more than the Peach Festival if we as a Club come together and dove tail on the efforts of the Golf Committee.

Please consider a Rotary non-playing Corporate Sponsorship of $1,000 that will go directly our bottom line Goal of raising $30,000 for Dolly Parton Imagination Library.  This would be huge help offsetting costs and effecting the bottom line for our beneficiary. Contact Kevin Davie or Kerrie Luginbill if interested in supporting in this manner.  For all other level of donations, please visit our Colorado Gives website at this link and make your monetary pledges there.
