Following his introduction by Bob Meroney, our speaker will share his personal story that led his arrival in Fort Collins in 1990, and the co-founding of Wolf Robotics.
We gathered Wednesday evening, May 18th, at the Lincoln Center for our annual Service Above Self Celebration. There was a social hour, dinner, followed by entertainment and awards! Thanks Del Benson for leading the event, and to members of the fellowship committee for all your work.
This Wednesday, May 25th, after our regular noon meeting at the Lincoln Center, Rob Marschke will host "A Conversation about Cancer" during the Science and Engineering Fellowship.
The DEI Fellowship will hear, June 1 via Zoom, from Rotary International DEI Taskforce member and inspirational speaker Dr. Todd “Bowtie” Jenkins, starting immediately following the regular noon meeting. Dr. Jenkins will discuss the definition of DEI, why it’s important to Rotary and how it links with Rotary’s service mission. Dr. Jenkins is a proud member of the Rotary Club of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Here is a link to a summary of Dr. Jenkins speaking at the RI zones 2b & 32 Virtual Zone Summit Nov 2-4, 2021.
The DEI Fellowship is inclusive to all – Please join us June 1.
Creating an awe-inspiring panorama, United States flags will fly in a solemn formation at Veteran’s Plaza at Spring Canyon Park from May 27th through May 30. This stirring display of 500 flags will bring the community together in a patriotic tribute to honor our heroes. Each U.S. flag has a medallion attached which represents a hero and tells a story. The Rotary Club is honoring each of the four members we lost this year with a medallion: Carl Maxey, John David Sullivan, Shelly Godkin and Mary Ontiveros.
Our treasurer sends out Club & Charities Invoices quarterly, January 1st, April 1st, July 1st, and October 1st. If invoices are not paid in 30 days, periodic reminders are sent via email from Quickbooks. If you receive a reminder from Quickbooks, please pay or contact our treasurer, Steve Kane, if you have any questions about invoice. If an invoice is overdue by 90 days, a member of our Finance team will contact you for resolution. (The date on the invoice corresponds to the quarter. For instance, invoices dated April 1st are for the quarter April 1st to June 30th)
For our noon Lincoln Center meetings, please pre-purchase guest lunches on Eventbrite. Please also use Eventbrite to purchase lunches if you normally attend our evening meeting or in the noon beverage only category.
Congratulations to all the award winners at our annual Service Above Self celebration. If you were unable to attend, please read about the awardees here, and congratulate them the next time you meet. It was wonderful to celebrate all the good work these members do, and all the amazing things our members accomplish in our community and around the world.
Our new Rotary year starts July 1st. As the change approaches, it might be a good time to check out all our committees and activities to see if there is new area you might want to explore in the new Rotary year.
