Rotary Picnic - Wednesday, September 29th
For those who registered for the picnic, join us for fellowship, food and a welcome to Fall! We will have yard games ready at 5:00 if you are so inclined and Nordy’s BBQ will be ready to serve at 5:30. No need to bring anything – just an appetite and be ready for some fun.

NOTE: There are two pavilions in Fossil Creek – we will be at the Lake Pavilion!!  This shelter is located on the west side of the park, and sits on the northwest end of the lake. For close parking, patrons should use the west parking lot which is accessed from Fossil Creek Parkway off of College Avenue. This shelter has a water spigot and restrooms are located at the shelter. Also, plenty of handicapped parking.

I am looking forward to our fall picnic on Wednesday and already starting to look forward to our holiday party on December 5th; please mark your calendars. Thank you Fellowship Committee for all the work you do!

During the recent evening meeting we discussed writing cards of appreciation for our health care workers who are, once again, stressed and wearing out due to the recent COVID-19 surge. Kerrie volunteered to create cards of appreciation to lift their spirits and show we care.  Interested members will be able to write their messages of appreciation at a future meeting. Annette has volunteered to coordinate delivery along with some snacks to our local health care workers. Thanks to all who participate with this effort to show our front line workers how much they are appreciated.

Looking forward to having evening meetings at the NOCO Distillery during October. The distillery has a welcoming facility and handcrafted spirits and tonic (beverage options) available to enjoy while we meet. For our noon meetings, we are on zoom October 6th with Past President Rob Marschke leading the meeting. Our guest speaker will be Patrice Palmer who will be discussing Building Inclusive Workspaces. We then have 3 consecutive noon in-person meetings (13th, 20th, & 27th) at the Lincoln Center in October with interesting programs and speakers including: Club Member Judge Juan Villaseñor discussing "Our Judicial System in the Covid Era" on the 13th and then President Joyce McConnell's CSU State of the University address on the 20th.

Lastly, if you missed it this week in your email, check out our recap of our Rotary Summer.  Thanks for a great summer!

Yours in Rotary Service,

John
