Arboretum Coffee
On Wednesday, 6 November 2024, Hannah Norris, founder and owner of Arboretum Coffee will tell us all about Arboretum Coffee on Prospect Road. Arboretum Coffee (AC) is more than just a coffee shop; they are a social enterprise that provides comprehensive training programs and support services for refugees and immigrants in our community. Through a holistic approach, they aim to empower individuals to build sustainable careers and integrate successfully into their new communities. The AC mission is to use excellent coffee and excellent goods to cultivate loving, flourishing communities with our New American neighbors in a dignified space that enables each person to thrive holistically. Their objective is to help make Northern Colorado an epicenter for refugee and immigrant community empowerment in our lifetime. Currently, AC has four apprentices, three from Ukraine and one from Venezuela. Hannah (she/her) brings a background in humanitarian service and community development to her role as the founder of Arboretum Coffee. Hannah spent her undergraduate time volunteering and interning with a variety of nonprofits in the area, including Crossroads Safehouse and Fort Collins Rescue Mission, and she worked as a caseworker with The Matthews House from 2021-2022. Hannah Norris has a Master of Arts in Humanitarian and Disaster Leadership from Wheaton College. She is married to Jeremy Norris, a professional mountain biker who heads his own team, HART Cycling, and coaches for Ciclismo and Ignition.

We collected 50 children’s jackets for Mujeres de Colores, who will redistribute the coats to children in need this winter. We enjoyed each other’s company, a few of us were lucky enough to win a door prize and some even had the Halloween spirit and dressed in costumes.
