The Beet Worker Project (Lunch Meeting)
On Wednesday, February 15th, RCFC welcomes Betty Aragon and Chuck Solana as our guest speakers at the lunch meeting in the Lincoln Center.  Lynn Baker will introduce them, having become acquainted through the Rural Urban Committee. The Beet Worker Project works to honor those who helped build the northern Colorado / Fort Collins economy by working  in the beet fields.  This historical look back will shed light on the making of our Fort Collins culture today.   READ MORE...

Nuance Chocolate - Founder's Story (Evening Meeting)
For our evening meeting at Sweetwater brewery this Wednesday, Feb. 15th, we welcome Toby Gadd, co-owner and co-founder of Nuance Chocolate.  He will be sharing his founder’s story and providing us with information about the chocolate industry and details about their niche within the market. Toby and Alix Gadd, co-founders of Nuance Chocolate, have been certified chocoholics for decades, even going on chocolate-tasting dates together over a decade ago.  Inspired after visiting a chocolate museum near Hone Creek in Costa Rica, their infatuation with eating chocolate developed into exploring the chemistry, flavors, and mysteries of making their own small-batch chocolate. What began as an all-consuming hobby quickly outgrew their home kitchen, blossoming into Nuance Chocolate—one of a small number of true bean-to-bar chocolate makers in the United States.

RECAP: Humanitarian Aid to Ukraine
Last week, a quick reschedule allowed us to hear a very topical issue – the story of how Tony and Natalie Sundermeier applied their shared talent and experience to create and manage a distribution hub in Romania that delivers humanitarian aid to the hardest hit areas in the Russian-Ukrainian war.

First, a short video introduced the staff at the warehouse and the changing focus of services, initially meals and evolving to include whatever was needed (think big like ambulances and generators).  READ MORE...

Investment Fellowship
On February 15, the Investment Fellowship will meet immediately following the noon meeting at the Lincoln Center.  Our topic this month will be: “The best investments for the next two years and five years, and the worst for the next two and five years.”  All viewpoints and all opinions will be welcomed—extensive investment experience is not required.  Bob Hoel will moderate.
