Larimer County Sheriff John Feyen (Lunch Meeting)
The luncheon meeting of the Rotary Club of Fort Collins on June 21st at the Lincoln Center provides us with the opportunity to get acquainted with our new Sheriff, John Feyen. Following his introduction by John Runkles, our guest speaker will fill us in on his background and plans for the administration of his office in the years to come. In his pre-election (2022) interview with the North Forty News, our speaker shared that he was originally from a small farming community in Iowa. John moved to Kansas City, MO. in 1987 where he met his wife while serving as a paramedic. Four years later, they moved to Larimer County (primarily for family) where they both continued serving as paramedics/firefighters for the citizens of Loveland, Berthoud, and the Big Thompson Canyon. Dr. Shannon has been in Colorado, mostly the Fort Collins area, for some 30 years, currently at the Wholeness Center (www.wholeness.com). He and co-investigators have spent the last seven years on a soon-to-be-published study on the use of MDMA in treatment of PTSD. The next stage in the progress of this study will be to obtain FDA approval for widespread use of MDMA in PTSD treatment.READ MORE...
