The President’s Update on CSU
Lincoln Center, Noon on October 20th, 2021.  Our traditional hosting of the State of the University address continues this year, with Colorado State University President Joyce McConnell joining us for our in-person meeting Wednesday noon at the Lincoln Center.  She will be introduced by Kirvin Knox. Historically, the President reviews the current status of the university, including new programs and issues facing the university and the university community. Dr. McConnell is Colorado State University’s 15th President and first woman to lead Colorado’s land-grant institution. She is on record as being committed to the mission and success of land grant institutions, equity in education and in the workplace, and the preservation and protection of our environment. This week I am looking forward to two in-person Rotary meetings.  First, we welcome CSU President Joyce McConnell to the Lincoln Center at noon Wednesday for our annual CSU State of the University Address.  Then Wednesday evening we welcome Elizabeth Winn from Junior Achievement at NOCO Distillery. Hope to see you at one meeting or both!

Thanks to everyone who volunteered earlier in the month at the mobile food pantry. The Poudre High School mobile food pantry is a “drive-through” where clients can receive a variety of pre-selected food items, a great service for the community.  Check out some pictures of the evening.

November is Rotary Foundation Month. Through its grant programs The Rotary Foundation has supported Rotarians doing good in the world since 1917, and is now one of the world's leading humanitarian foundations. For this month and for Foundation Month, you can double your impact, triple your points for the Rotary Foundation as your donations will be matched. Our Foundation Chair, Andrew Stewart, will be updating the club soon with some great news on the fundraising efforts!

Yours in Rotary Service,

John
