RECAP: How much should we worry about the US Government Debt?
Last week, CSU professor of economics, Daniele Tavani, helped us understand How Much We Should Worry About the US Government debt?  The first slide showed a “worrisome” curve showing the rise in total debt over the past 50 years to (currently) 24 trillion dollars. A better indicator of the issue is illustrated by the curve of the Federal debt from 1940 to the present as a per cent of the GDP. The most recent number is 126% (the recent rise observed is thought to be secondary to COVID and should improve with effective management of the pandemic). READ MORE...

Last Thursday many of our club members gathered at the Global Village Museum. The evening boasted fellowship, beautiful exhibits and a fun night out. (Some event photos)  Thank you Fellowship Committee for organizing the event. On Friday we had the opportunity to tour the new CSU Spur. Once construction is completed it will be an amazing facility dedicated to teaching and engaging the community about food, water and health, while being a hub to connect people across the region. We even autographed the final beam which will be installed in the latest building. (Some tour pictures)

Also, please welcome Jami Dorsey to the Club. Jami was inducted during our noon meeting this week; we are excited to have her as part of Rotary.

Our September 29th fall picnic is fast approaching.  If interested please sign up now. The deadline to sign up is September 22nd so the Fellowship Committee can finish planning the event. You can also sign up at this link, or contact Sue Wagner for more information on how to register.
