Colorado National Guard Partnerships
On Wednesday, March 16th, Brigadier General Scott M. Sherman, Director of Joint Staff for the Colorado National Guard, joins Rotary on Zoom for our 12:00pm meeting. He will be introduced by Col Kip Turain, USAF (retired). Brigadier General Sherman directly supervises the Joint Staff and is the commander of the standing Joint Task Force Centennial, responsible for leading the Colorado National Guard’s response to domestic events, as directed by the Governor. Additionally, he directs the Colorado National Guard’s specified partnerships, including those with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Republic of Slovenia, and the State of Israel. These partnerships link a State’s NG with a partner nation’s military, security forces, and disaster response organizations. In these times of global instability, it is timely for RCFC to learn about this mission of our National Guard. This is an organization with 3900 total Soldiers, of which 800 are full-time Soldiers and Civilians, spread across 26 facilities in Colorado, and an annual budget of over $120 million. READ MORE...

For the 2022-23 Rotary Year, which starts July 1st, our club is eligible for District grant funds up to $6,000. The funds can be used for a humanitarian project with Rotary member active participation. The Community Service Committee selects any local projects and the International Grants & Project's Committee selects international projects from those ideas presented by Club members. For this year, we are doing an international district grant for Santa Maria Center in Mexico and a local grant with Homeward Alliance. For next year, a project has not been selected. The due date for the application is June 3rd, 2022. If you have possible project idea or would like more information, please contact Jon Land for local projects or Robin Steele for international projects. Marty Bachman or John Trone can provide additional information also.
Our Communications Committee is looking for volunteers to share the good work of Rotary on social media. You can share as often or as little as you like, so the time commitment is up to you. We have accounts on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter; pick your favorite platform! Or just share photos on our photo website. If you are interested or would like more information, please contact Marty Bachman or John Trone.
