The Butter Battle: Dr. Seuss and the Cold War, for Obsolete Children
This Wednesday, March 2nd, fellow Rotarians Bob Meroney and Bob Lawrence team up for our Rotary Zoom meeting at noon to do a presentation in three parts: 1) Professor Meroney will give a review and introduction into Ted Seuss Geisel's life and career, 2) he will read and show illustrations from The Butter Battle Book, and 3) Professor Lawrence will examine the cold war discussions of Robert McNamara and Herman Kahn, and give his thoughts on how that relates to current times. Volunteer Opportunity - Homeward Alliance
Please join us in service at SpeedPro for volunteer opportunity for Homeward Alliance. Our Club Charity has purchased the materials with the help of a District Grant. The supplies will be provided to Homeward Alliance for distribution to our homeless population. We will meet at SpeedPro at 5:30 this Wednesday, March 2nd. (This event will replace the evening meeting on March 2nd)
Our recent survey of Noon members showed 52.2% of those responding want to remain on the twice a month in-person schedule for April to June. 43.3% want to return to weekly. There was still concern about COVID, caterering, and difficulties of having enough volunteers at noon. Considering member feedback, the Board approved seven in-person Lincoln Center meetings, five Zoom meetings and the in-person Service Above Self event May 18th for the quarter April to June. The Calendar below is also available always on Club Website. Thank you all for your input.
