RCFC Strategic Planning Session
Following up the December strategic planning feedback session, this Wednesday President Rob Marschke, President Elect Del Benson and members of the Strategic Planning committee will review the status and next steps in the process - what has been done so far, including accounting improvements, Ask Form revisions, Bylaws and Constitution updates, policy and procedures documents now in development, changes in budgeting, programs and service, membership outcomes, venue and food changes and plans, and new fundraiser concepts.
Natalie AmRhein - RCFC's Next Exchange Student
Rotary Exchange Student Committee member Dan Mackey introduced Natalie AmRhein, RCFC's outbound Exchange Student.  Natalie requested Germany because of her German heritage, and is expecting to be sent to Germany this coming fall.  She is active in many activities and loves the outdoors.
RCFC's Newest Member, Jenn Holm
Past President Steve Laine inducted Jenn Holm, sponsored by Kelly Kettler into RCFC's evening membership.  Jenn then gave her new member talk, noting she was raised in Riverside California.  She has 3 sons, likes rock climbing and extreme activities, door making. and yoga.  She is a real estate broker and looks forward to the service, connections and the international focus of Rotary.
Student of the Month - Hanna Newman
Last week, Bill Schaffer introduced Matthew Miltenberg, counselor at Poudre high, who then introduced Hannah Newman as RCFC's Student of the Month and briefly summarized why she was chosen.  A senior, Hannah has earned 30 college credits while also working as a Woodward Inc. intern 15 hours a week for the past 2 years.  At the same time, she is active in the National Honor Society, the National Technical Society, Counseling new freshmen, and other programs at Poudre.  She plans to study engineering.
US and China Collaboration
Last Wednesday our guest speaker, Min Fan, was introduced by Bill Timpson, RCFC’s resident Peace advocate.  A cultural bridge-builder  Min believes that “bridges” can be built not only with concrete and steel but with friendship and communication. The process involves reflection, discussion, and action.

Committee Chairs:  Committee budgets for the rest of this year are due to President Rob Marschke by April 4.  Forms to request budget for next year are due to PE Del Benson by April 1.  No form, no budget.

Our District 5440 Conference is May 29-30 in Greeley at the Doubletree.  All are invited.  New Members and those considering leadership in Rotary are strongly encouraged to sign up.  
Our next Peacebuilder Fellowship meeting will be this Wed., Mar. 4 from 1:30-2:30 at the Drake Center.  The topic will be: Nuclear Weapons - Use, Probabilities and History.

Bob Lawrence reported that Lucy Castro, our recent Ambassadorial Scholar, has established a Global Rotary Club in D.C. made up mostly of women under 45.

Lloyd Thomas announced that registration for RYLA was now open and encouraged 7th graders and high school Sophomores to sign up on

John Trone asked for Volunteers to support the Book Trust project.  For details please see or talk to John.

The Peach Festival Committee is soliciting sponsors and volunteers for the Peach Festival.  This year’s beneficiary is Habitat for Humanity.  Our representatives on the central committee are Mara, Rob Marschke, and Annette Geisleman.

The Board Of Directors are reviewing processes for charities invoices.

Martin Limbird announced the new theme for RI:  Rotary Opens Opportunity (chosen by the new president because it “sounds good in German”!).
Bill Timpson brought greetings from Ngozi.  He announced the opening of a seventh Peace Center in Uganda.
All Rotary committees should give Rob their budget needs for the rest of this Rotary year.
Sally Lee reported King Soopers rebate of $532.00 that goes directly into our charitable budget.  If you haven’t signed up yet, see Sally.
Harry Mueller needs weekly Greeters - especially Red Badge members.  Please see Harry to sign up.  
Mara Johnson needs host families for our incoming youth exchange student (2020-21 school year).  She also thanked Club for the $4000 budget.
Henry Weisser brought OLLI (formerly OSHER) catalogs for the winter/spring semester.  See Henry if you need one.  
The Finance Committee meet on the 2nd Thursday, and the Board Meeting is the 4th Thursday each month.  Both meetings are from 3:30 to 5:00 in the Markley Motors Conference room.  All are invited.

Marty Bachman urged members to shop on Amazon Smile.  Rebates would be credited to our club at the rate of 0.5%.  Look for the Amazon logo on our website.
Marty Bachman requests fun fundraising ideas.  She also needs volunteers for her committee.

The Board Of Directors approved participation in the 2020 Peach Festival.  The beneficiary will be Habitat for Humanity.  President Rob summarized the discussion and outlined the factors to be watched closely.  Peach Festival financial report update will be emailed to members.
SPECIAL NOTE:  Kathy Hawkins cautioned members not to pay dues AND charities with a single checks.  For charities contributions to be tax-deductible, you must write a separate check.
President Rob announced that for those wishing to apply for the new "Noon Membership Without Meals" category, a form needs to be completed and submitted to the Membership Committee.  
PDG Mike Forney invited retired professionals to join SCORE (Senior Corps Of Retired Executives).  Volunteers work with small business personnel to enhance their business.  Counselors are needed in Ft. Collins.  If interested, contact Mike Forney.
