From three blank legal pads to a $3 billion franchise
Author Lee Childs (nom de plume for British author Jim Grant) joins the lunch meeting of RCFC to talk with us about his career. Following his introduction by Dave Stewart, our speaker explains that he was broke and out of work at 40, and then became a writer because he had no choice ... find out what happened next. Many of his fans may already know that Jack Reacher is a series of novels, novellas and short stories by our guest speaker. As of January, 2022, the series includes 26 books and a short story collection. The book series chronicles the adventures of Jack Reacher, former major in the United States Army Military Police Corps, as he roams the United States taking odd jobs and investigating suspicious and frequently dangerous situations. The Reacher series has maintained a schedule of one per year, except for 2010, when two were published.
Last week our speaker was Jennifer Barfield, PhD, and CSU Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences. Her research focuses on assisted reproduction in bison and cattle. She also manages the Foothills Bison Conservation herd in Northern Colorado. Her presentation Soapstone Prairie and the Critters focused on the Laramie Foothills (Yellowstone) Bison.. READ MORE...
The Rotary History Fellowship will meet shortly after the regular meeting. Our topic will be: 'An Overview of American Medicine, Past, Present and Future, with commentary by Bob Simmons, M.D.' Everyone and every opinion are welcome in our discussion.

Make plans to join us for the annual Fort Collins Rotary Clubs Purple Pins for Polio bowling event on February 5th, 2022 at Chippers Lanes on Horsetooth. This event is a great family affair and always a lot of fun. It’s also a good opportunity to socialize with members from all the Fort Collins Rotary Clubs. More information soon!

The presentation will be held Wednesday, December 14 from 4-6 at Union Bar & Soda Fountain, 250 Jefferson Street. Food and drink will be available while supplies last!

We invoice the 1st day of each quarter for Club Dues and Charity Pledges. As it is over 60 days since last invoicing, we are starting to send out reminders weekly. If you receive a reminder, please either pay or email our Treasurer Steve at treasurer@fortcollinsrotary.org if any questions. Please do not ignore the reminders as they will continue weekly until resolved.
Please note that the invoice date will let you know the corresponding quarter the invoice. For instance, if the invoice is dated July 1st, it is for the quarter July 1st to September 30th.
