Mike Melton - Prospective Member Approved!
The Board voted to approve the membership of Mike Melton. Mike states that he is new to Fort Collins, but is not new to Rotary. Mike was a Rotarian for a brief period in about 2013, but demands of his career made it difficult to be a contributing member. His grandfather and his wife were Rotarians for over twenty years and his mother has been a Rotarian for almost thirty years. Mike believes in what Rotary stands for and that it is a great way to serve the community, while making friendships that can last a lifetime. READ MORE...

We will have elections on 8 December at noon meeting with input from evening members. The slate to nominate includes:  President (currently President-Elect Marty Bachman), President-Elect, Secretary, Treasurer, and four candidates for two Board of Directors Positions. The nominating committee traditionally names a single candidate for each officer position: President, President Elect, Secretary, and Treasurer.

Nominations committee of Steve Kane, John Trone, Marty Bachman, Judy Boggs, Sue Wagner, John Roberts and Del Benson (Chair) will have our deliberations completed by 10 November, and announce the slate to members that day or the following week. Keep your eyes open for persons with visions and administrative skills. The committee will meet in person at 4 PM, 26 October in the Board Room of Bank of Colorado 1102 E. Lincoln Avenue to refine our lists and then to confirm with prospects to assure their willingness to serve. Members can offer names to the nominations committee between now and 20 October.

The slate will be presented to the membership in November.  Nominations can be made from the floor during the noon Election Meeting on 8 December (including nominations from the evening membership at that time). Nominations from the floor: 1) must be supported by five members; and 2) the person nominated must agree to accept the nomination in writing to me in advance of the election.

Thank you Fellowship Committee for making the Fall Picnic happen!  Please check out some pictures from the picnic.  The food was delicious and, as always, the fellowship was fun and engaging. Our next fellowship event will be the holiday party on December 5th, please save the date.

Rob Marschke will be leading this week's meeting on Zoom at noon. Patrice Palmer looks to be a fantastic speaker, hope you can attend. We then have 3 consecutive noon in-person meetings (13th, 20th, & 27th) at the Lincoln Center in October with interesting programs and speakers including: Club Member Judge Juan Villaseñor discussing "Our Judicial System in the Covid Era" on the 13th then President Joyce McConnell's CSU State of the University address on the 20th.

Our evening meetings Wednesday, October 6th and 20th, are at the NOCO Distillery. The distillery has a welcoming facility and handcrafted spirits and tonic (beverage options) available to enjoy while we meet.

On Friday, along with Bonnie Titley, I had the pleasure to give away the Wesley Award, which is given annually to a first generation graduate student pursuing a Ph.D in Counseling Psychology. The recipient of the third annual Wesley Award was Kaitlyn Reed. Congratulations to Kaitlyn!

Lastly, November is Rotary Foundation Month.
