Conserving Urban Wildlife, Connecting people with Nature, and Environmental Justice
On Wednesday, June 1st,  we host Dr.  Charles Nilon, of the University of Missouri, at noon on Zoom.  He will be introduced by Del Benson, to discuss the importance of the day-to-day places where people live and work to conserving wildlife in cities, promoting urban biodiversity, and providing places for people to have contact with nature.  He will also discuss how these day-to-day places and experiences are linked to environmental justice.
Tess Baker - McKee Foundation
On Wednesday evening, June 1st, in-person at Sweetwater Brewing we host Tess Baker, Marketing and Events Coordinator for the McKee Foundation. The goal of the McKee Wellness Foundation is to enable physical and mental wellness across Northern Colorado by helping to fill the gap between available resources and the needs of the community. They achieve this through supporting community wellness programs, hosting fundraising events for local projects and programs, and pursuing projects related to wellness in the community.
RECAP: Cornerstone Stories – Lincoln Electric
Last week, May 25th, Lance Guymon shared the history of our local high-tech robotic cutting and welding operation (formerly Wolf Robotics) which is now a branch of the largest robotic welding company in the world, Lincoln Electric.  Bill West guided the presentation as he asked our speaker questions about this local success story and its contributions to NOCO. This talk was an installment of RCFC’s “Cornerstone Stories” highlighting significant contributors to our local economy and well-being.
DEI Fellowship welcomes Dr. Todd “Bowtie” Jenkins
The DEI Fellowship will hear, June 1 via Zoom, from Rotary International DEI Taskforce member and inspirational speaker Dr. Todd “Bowtie” Jenkins, starting immediately following the regular noon meeting.  Dr. Jenkins will discuss the definition of DEI, why it’s important to Rotary and how it links with Rotary’s service mission.  Dr. Jenkins is a proud member of the Rotary Club of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Shaping Fort Collins’ Operations and Long-Term Vision
On Wednesday, June 8th, Rotary meets in person at the Lincoln Center.  Following an introduction by Bill Timpson, we will welcome  Claudia Menéndez, who serves as Fort Collins’ inaugural chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer following her appointment in July, 2021.  In her role, our guest is tasked with creating and building the city’s chief diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) office, with the goal of increasing Fort Collins’ ability to support DEI work, both within the ranks of the City staff,  and externally.


Quickbooks Emails & Invoices
Our treasurer sends out Club & Charities Invoices quarterly, January 1st, April 1st, July 1st, and October 1st.  If invoices are not paid in 30 days, periodic reminders are sent via email from Quickbooks.  If you receive a reminder from Quickbooks, please pay or contact our treasurer, Steve Kane, if you have any questions about invoice.  If an invoice is overdue by 90 days, a member of our Finance team will contact you for resolution. (The date on the invoice corresponds to the quarter. For instance, invoices dated April 1st are for the quarter April 1st to June 30th)
New Member Approved - Michael Flesher
The Board approved the application for membership for Michael Flesher. Michael was SR Vice President & Corporate Secretary, Farm Credit Bank, now retired. Michael states "I am a native of Lincoln, NE and the oldest of three. Now retired, I spent the first 15 years of my working acer as a broadcast journalist, and the remining 30 years as a senior executive with America's largest bank committed to serving rural America and agriculture. Given my broadcast news background, I am a news and current events junkie with dep interest in government , finance and economics and our country's short history." READ MORE...

The Board approved the application for membership for Gregory. Gregory states "My name is Gregory Musto, full time residential REALTOR for Hub Real Estate & also a small Business owner of a small Auto Brokerage (RJM Automotive). I am originally from Boston, Massachusetts; however, I moved to this amazing state in 2002. No, I am not a native, but I did get here as fast as I could! Opening: Guatemala Rotary in Action - Global Village Museum
GUATEMALA:  Rotary in Action opens Friday, June 3, in the Hall Gallery at the Global Village Museum of Arts and Cultures. Museum admission is free from 5-8 pm as part of First Friday Art Walk.  The exhibit highlights community development projects by the Fort Collins Rotary Club in collaboration with Rotarians in Guatemala.  Projects include construction of water and sanitation systems in remote villages, dengue fever education and disease prevention, and rehabilitation of river watershed areas.
