Scholarship Program (Lunch Meeting)
On Wednesday, Sep 6th, at the luncheon meeting for RCFC at the Lincoln Center, fellow Rotarian Robin Steele will highlight the college scholarships our club awarded this past spring. This financial aid, generally about $25,000 in total, goes to graduating seniors from local Poudre School District high schools. As Scholarship Committee Chair, Robin will share a short overview of the scholarships, the criteria for their grant, and the selection process. She will then briefly introduce each of the recipients for the coming school year, who have been invited to attend our meeting. Robin will share with the club a 1-3 minute video that each of the students has prepared for this program to tell us a little bit about themselves and to thank our club. Should be very heartwarming for the members, and memorable for the students! READ MORE...
On August 30, in place of our usual in-person meeting at the Lincoln Center, Dave Stewart organized a field trip to CSU’s new SPUR campus at the National Western Center in Denver. Some 47 Rotary members and guests, mostly riding a CSU bus and enjoying a box lunch on the way, met at the campus and enjoyed a whirlwind tour of the three SPUR buildings. We learned that the SPUR campus is a facility that provides: service to the community along with research in animal life, agriculture, and water; and educational outreach to the Denver community as well as the rest of the State of Colorado.READ MORE...

The Board has approved for membership Jordan Spight. Jordan states "My name is Jordan Spight and I look forward to becoming a Rotary member and the opportunity it gives to be more involved in the community. I was born and raised in Fort Collins and am a third generation Fort Collins native. Upon graduating from Fort Collins High School, I attended Colorado State University where I earned a bachelor's degree. After college I spent 15 years as a firefighter with Windsor Severance Fire Rescue, during which time I met my wife Molly (also a Ft. Collins native), moved to Windsor and had our first child. After 15 years with the fire department, it was time for a change, and I began a second career in real estate. Today I am a Realtor with RE/MAX Alliance in Fort Collins. In my spare time I can be found on the golf course, spending time with my family enjoying all the Colorado has to offer, and cheering on the Rams football team every Saturday. "
