President Amy Parsons - State of CSU
On Wednesday, 20 November 2024, we are honored and delighted to welcome Colorado State University President Amy Parsons, who will once again present a State of CSU report highlighting successes and achievements of this World Class University over the past year. Amy Parsons, esq, is the 16th President of Colorado State University. Prior to being named CSU President in 2023, she served for 17 years in various senior executive leadership roles at CSU and in the CSU System. She combines her higher education background with private sector experience, as well as a background in law. Parsons served as executive vice chancellor of the CSU System, vice president for university operations at CSU, deputy general counsel, and associate legal counsel at CSU. Amy began her career as a litigation attorney for Denver-firm Brownstein, Hyatt, & Farber (now Brownstein, Hyatt, Farber, Schreck). She currently serves on the NCAA Committee for Infractions, the Salazar Center for North American Conservation External Advisory Board, and the Colorado Business Roundtable Board of Directors. Parsons holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from CSU and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Colorado. She was born in Colorado and grew up in Wyoming.
History and Current Events Fellowship
The Foundation Fellowship will meet this Wednesday after the Noon meeting. As adults, it is time for each of us to take guiltless responsibility for creating our own health, preventing disease and healing ourselves to the best of our knowledge, ability and training. Today, Dr. Lloyd J. Thomas will offer practical suggestions on precisely how to learn these skills.

Air Force Cadet of the Month
Air Force ROTC Cadet Joe Strasser was recognized as Rotary’s Cadet of the Month for November 2024! Joe is a senior studying Business and holds the Detachment position of External Affairs Officer this semester. In that capacity he gained praise from cadre for planning and executing three joint events this semester with the Army ROTC Ram Battalion. They enjoyed camaraderie while rappelling, playing flag football in ‘The Comatose Bowl’ and the Bronze Boot football run between ‘that University up North’ and CSU. He hails from Aurora, CO and will graduate in 2025. He looks forward to getting into his pilot training after commissioning and is open to everything between helicopters and fighters. Rotary congratulates Joe on being selected for this Award, in his pursuit of selfless dedication to serve our Nation, and wishes him the very best in his future!

Colorado Gives Day is on December 10, but Early Giving is open! Colorado Gives Foundation is a community foundation with a mission to make good happen by connecting people, ideas and nonprofits. In Jefferson County (Jeffco), they partner with local nonprofits through various philanthropic tools, including grantmaking to help build resilient, connected and thriving communities. Statewide, they created ColoradoGives.org—a year-round giving platform that makes it easy for individuals and businesses to support nonprofits, and for nonprofits to raise the funds they need to grow their impact.
