Bilingual Business Specialist (Evening meeting)

This Wednesday evening the 2nd at SweetWater Brewery, we welcome Edgar Ramos. Local to Fort Collins, Edgar specializes in helping businesses navigate government processes and find resources for entrepreneurs to overcome barriers. As business owner himself, Edgar understands the struggle that is entrepreneurship.

Edgar will be supporting the ARPA funded, Multicultural Business and Entrepreneur Center (MBEC), that will connect small businesses and entrepreneurs to critical resources as they create, launch, and grow their businesses, all while building trust across all businesses. In addition, Edgar supports the initiative of the NoCo Latino Chamber of Commerce as an advisor.

For the presentation, we’ll dive into how this initiative started and the why. In addition, we’ll talk about the services that are offered and can answer any questions that the group would have for us!

For our in-person meeting on October 26, Seth Forwood, the Senior Leader of the Fort Collins Rescue Mission, summarized the history, current status, and near-future goals for the Fort Collins-area Rescue Mission and the associated Harvest Farm.  These two facilities were originally a branch or outreach from the Denver Rescue Mission, Harvest Farm starting some 30 years ago, the Rescue Mission some 10 years ago.  Both are aimed at changing lives in the name of Christ, providing help at the physical and spiritual points of need with the goal of helping their clients return to society as productive, self-sufficient citizens.  READ MORE...

I’m HERBERT, a 1-Act comedy (Lunch, Nov. 9th)

Members of our club will be entertained on Wednesday, November 9th, noon at the Lincoln Center, by our guests Sandi Klug, Louise Thornton and David Siever. Following their introduction by Sharyn Salmen, they stage a delightful 20-minute comedy about an older couple who have had several marriages, are currently married to each other and are reminiscing about their lives.  They may have trouble remembering just who their past spouses were and whether they had past affairs, etc., but in the end, it only matters that they have had a wonderful life and are happy together now.
