Last Thursday the Poudre School District Foundation honored Rotarian Don Unger with their 2024 Change Maker Award. During the Foundation’s Ignite the Impact dinner, Tracy Katz, Foundation Board presented the award and said Don, “..has been such a force for good in our community.”
Reasons mentioned for the award were:
*His continued service and leadership of multiple community organizations
*His commitment to the students of Poudre School District over many, many years
*The creation of the endowed Unger Scholarship which has helped dozens of PSD students achieve their dreams of attending college, and will continue to provide scholarships for many years to come
*And his impact on the Poudre School District Foundation as a supporter, leader, and advocate
Katz also mentioned Don’s kindness, devotion to his family, and his ever-present smile, things we also know from Rotary.

The upcoming Rotary Club (luncheon) meeting at the Lincoln Center on November 29th features Diana Wall from the faculty at CSU. Following her introduction by Bill Timpson, our guest will talk about an important University Center addressing our global response to climate change as well as the research her department has been doing.
Our club recently lost a great Rotarian and friend. Kathy Nicol passed on Saturday, November 18th. Kathy joined the club in June, 1997. Kathy did so much for the club and for our community. She chaired the Community Grants committee for many years, organized volunteers for our noon meetings and lunches and was the go-to person for Evenbrite notifications. Kathy had a big heart and a big smile even through her struggle with cancer. She will truly be missed.
