This coming Wednesday, August 14th, the evening meeting  of Rotary at the Lincoln Center features Wendy Miller, the Executive Director of our local Healing Warrior Program.  Following her introduction by Kevin Davie, Wendy will speak on this non-profit’s mission.
Wendy’s organization, founded in 2012, provides services through its Ft. Collins clinic and pop-up clinics held at Veteran support events throughout the Colorado Front Range. Services include acupuncture, craniosacral therapy, Healing Touch therapy, guided imagery, and coping kits to treat physical and psychosocial concerns. Its staff uses a medical model of case management to ensure individual client goals are being met through client care specialists who connect our clients to individualized community resources. All of our treatment modalities have research-based evidence for treating pain, anxiety, sleeplessness, PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), suicide risk, and loss of connectedness. As part of its accountability to supports, Healing Warrior measures the veterans it help for progress in the reduction of pain, anxiety, and emotional discomfort symptoms, seeing an average of 57% decrease in symptom severity for all three treatment modalities.

Our speaker is a Colorado native living with her family in Erie, CO. She has been a registered nurse since 2006 and has worked in various healthcare leadership roles for the past 25 years. She became the Program Director in May 2023, and has also worked as a Healing Touch practitioner in the Ft. Collins clinic.
