Coloradoan Executive Editor David Dishman will share a little bit about the mission of the Coloradoan and how the role of a local newspaper has changed over the years. He will talk about coverage priorities, how to alert him and his staff to news ideas, ways in which businesses can be involved in the modern news model and more.
He is also more than willing to answer any questions someone might have about the industry and how it is changing and where it is going. A fair amount of time will be dedicated to Q&A and audience participation is very much encouraged in the presentation. David Dishman is a nationally-recognized journalist and executive editor of the Coloradoan. His career includes stops in Oklahoma and Texas, where he has been awarded with some of journalism's most prestigious awards. He's worked as both a reporter and editor, covering subjects ranging from education to healthcare to business to crime and public safety. A semi-native to Colorado, Dishman spent most of his childhood in Lafayette, Colorado. He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri and an MBA from the University of Central Oklahoma. In his free time, Dishman can be found exploring new restaurants, skiing, hiking and watching sports.
