On Wednesday, 19 February 2025, our Club will welcome Grace Wright from the CSU School of Business.
Grace, being an experienced business woman herself in both the for-profit and non-profit worlds, will help us understand how for-profit businesses can become more sustainable in the face of daunting challenges.  With an eye for protecting natural ecosystems, Grace will give evidence and programming examples that demonstrate how businesses can optimistically participate in shifts toward more sustainable solutions.  Framing long-term thinking, invoking innovation theory, establishing business strategies for sustainability (including circularity and net zero strategy) are all important for success in this endeavor.

Grace holds a degree in Political Science from the University of Denver and an MBA from CSU.  As the Sustainability Initiatives Specialist at the Colorado State University College of Business, Grace focuses on co-creating, managing and executing the College’s sustainability initiatives which span research, curriculum, and engagement.  The Sustainability Initiatives Specialist is a key member of the College’s leadership team, helping to drive progress towards “Business for a Better Word”.  She is also an appointed member of the President’s Sustainability Commission and advisor to the Climate Initiative.

Previously, Grace worked for We.Org (formerly Free the Children) and Whole Foods Market.  She co-founded a international health nonprofit (Ascent), founded a software literacy training enterprise for business professionals (Aptitech), and launched Wright Ventures, which helps early-stage startups in Denver formalize, launch and scale.  Grace has been recognized as a CSU Best Teacher (2017), Colorado Woman of Influence (2010), and a Northern Colorado Superwoman (2016).  At CSU, Grace seeks to equip her students with the knowledge necessary to be powerful entrepreneurs and change-makers in business.
