This Wednesday at our evening meeting, we'll hear from David Rout, Executive Director of Homeward Alliance. Homeward Alliance (HWA) is a Larimer County-based non-profit that empowers individuals and families who face homelessness to survive, move forward, and thrive. Founded as Homeless Gear in 2008 to collect and distribute outdoor gear, we have, in the 16 years since, evolved into one of the largest and most-impactful service providers for people experiencing homelessness in Larimer County. HWA provides a range of services to about 5,000 individuals each year at over a dozen sites county-wide. David joined Homeward Alliance in 2012 and became the Executive Director in 2014. He holds a Master’s in Social Work (MSW) from Colorado State University. He represents Homeward Alliance on multiple task forces, serves on Colorado State University’s School of Social Work Advisory Board and sits on the Board of Directors for Outreach Fort Collins and Homeward 2020.
HWA operates the Murphy Center for Hope (a one-stop hub of services), serves as the Data Lead for the Northern Colorado Continuum of Care (NoCO CoC), and operates the following programs: Resource Navigation (intake into the region’s by-name housing list and housing focused navigation services), Distribution (gear, hygiene and food), EARN (employment services), Re-Entry (case management for those on parole and at medium to high risk of recidivism), Housing First Initiative (housing focused case management), Family Services (housing and resource navigation), Peer Navigation (recovery services), Bike Repair and Mobile Laundry.  We are also the Lead Agency for the City of Loveland, tasked with the development and implementation of a strategic plan to address homelessness.

All programs operated by HWA are intentionally unique to our community and designed strategically to work in coordination with existing services and fill gaps in need.
