If there were an unofficial theme for the Evening programs this month it would be “First Responders”. Last meeting, we got to hear from Fort Collins Police Services and being a first responder/witness to traffic accidents. This week, we have the privilege of hearing from Health4Heroes, a Northern Colorado nonprofit organization that empowers Veterans and First Responders to take command of their health. Its founder, Nicholas Dunagan, served in the Army from 2009 to 2014 as a Motor Transportation Operator and Paratrooper, including a deployment to Afghanistan with the 1st Infantry Division. After transitioning out of the military, Nick overcame personal challenges related to his service and found purpose in health promotion and service to others. After studying Health & Exercise Science at Colorado State University, Nick launched Health4Heroes, where he now leads a mission-driven team serving the hero community across Northern Colorado and eventually, the entire nation.
