July 23, 2025: Susan Brand presented a $3,500 Community Grant check to Wayne Dehn, on behalf of the Aero Cygnet Association.
The nonprofit organization is dedicated to inspiring and educating young people at no cost, as part of Aero's Light Sport Pilot Program, to consider careers in aviation: pilots, mechanics, air traffic controllers. Our Rotary funds will be applied towards the purchase of a Levil AP BOM avionics package, a section of Aero's "Wonder Build Project" to build a Zenith 750 Cruzer LSA airplane. Students working with adult mentors will help assemble and fly the folded-winged plane that will be transported via a trailer as a mobile classroom to locations in Northern Colorado, to introduce young people to the possibilities of aviation careers. Aero Cygnet will display this building project at the upcoming Larimer County Fair, Aug. 1-5, 2025; look for and congratulate them as they grow this most important project.
