I spent a season working as a cod fisherman out on the Bering Sea with Alaskan Leader Fisheries, and it was one of the toughest things I’ve ever done. .
We worked 18-hour days in freezing temps, crazy winds, and rough seas—sometimes with waves over 40 feet high. The weather in December out there is no joke, with storms that can hit over 100mph. We ended up catching millions of pounds of fish in just 25 days before finally heading back to dock. It was brutal, but also life-changing—hard work, good food, and an experience I’ll never forget. I will tell the audience what the experience was like, what I learned from it and let them ask me as many questions as they like
