Do you like horses? Whether they dash together in a herd across fields or whether one trots over to you by a fence on a farm, they’re presence can fill us with a sense of awe. If we appreciate our horses in Northern Colorado, we like them even more to be happy and healthy. To this end, every few weeks, a specialist will come out to play a key role in their health. They are called farriers. Put simply, a farrier is a specialist in equine hoof care, a cobbler, a craftsman, a horseshoer.
It is my distinct pleasure to invite Talon Turner, a local farrier who, among many other equestrians, shoes a number of the horses for CSU, to our Evening meeting this week. Talon earned his Certified Journeyman Farrier (CJF) designation through the American Farriers Association, achieving the national high point score on the written portion of the CJF exam. He is passionate about the art and science of hoof care and providing high-quality, evidence-based farriery and horsemanship to horse owners in our community. Join us as he looks to show and tell us about his craft. You may even get to see a horseshoe be forged in front of you…
