Rotarians in Northern Colorado exemplify Rotary’s motto, Service Above Self. The club supports and participates in a variety of community-based projects, and funding needs for these activities and projects are great.

Community Grants

Grants are awarded annually to several very deserving service organizations to help them in their missions to assist those in need. In 2014, the club received requests for more than $100,000, but had only $16,000 to grant.

Youth Projects

Initiatives, including the Four-Way Test program that introduces high ethical standards to junior high students, and Rotary READ that encourages literacy and good reading habits among local children, are consistently underfunded. Financial need is also great to support local students in Rotary Youth Leadership Awards and Rotary Youth Exchanges.

Scholarships

The Rotary Club of Fort Collins provides numerous scholarships for postsecondary education. With the cost of higher education rising, an increase in the Legacy Fund is critical to continue to reward and encourage outstanding students to attend Colorado State University and Front Range Community College.
