On October 10th, RCFC will hear from Betsy Strafach, CEO and co-founder of 3Hopeful Hearts. This non-profit 501c (3) organization offers grief companionship to bereaved parents and families to honor the memory of a deceased child and to help them find hope and healing through events, support, education and remembrance. 3HH is unique in the community, and is the go-to organization for anyone impacted by the loss of a child. In Northern Colorado, when a child of any age dies, regardless of cause, 3Hopeful Hearts steps in to offer immediate and long term support. From being called immediately by local hospitals and first responders, to ongoing one-on-one grief companionship, monthly support groups and bereavement in the workplace integration, 3HH provides the comfort, hope and resources needed to start the healing journey. In addition to advocacy support, 3HH offers memorial opportunities, a yearly children’s grief camp, mothers and fathers retreats as well as ongoing bereavement training to health care providers and caregivers. Their stated goal is to walk beside and give hope to those who have been impacted by the loss of a child. The organization began its work in 2005, and is located at 1610 S. College Avenue in Fort Collins. Through a sister organization, Betsy uses her photography and videography talents to preserve and honor the memories of infants. Strafach was schooled in New Hampshire, and is the mother of two children. |
