115 Years of a Western Tradition
This coming Wednesday, Fort Collins Rotarians welcome our guest speaker, Trent Johnson, to the noon meeting at the Lincoln Center.  Trent is the owner of Greeley Hat Works.  His hats are legendary.  He will be introduced by Bill West.  Trent and his predecessors have fashioned cowboy hats for presidents and other world dignitaries, and his company has been doing so since 1909.  Bill suggests that members go to Google for Greeley Hat Works to learn more about the heritage of this company and the role it has played in the Old West.

On the day Trent addresses the club, we encourage our members to wear their cowboy hats!

RECAP: Peace is a Numbers Game and Rotary has the Winning Hand
At our February 7 in-person meeting, past District Governor Jim Halderman laid out a vision or challenge that links Rotary’s 4-way test, Rotary’s Seven Areas of Focus, and the Eight Pillars of Peace of the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP) as a framework for individual Rotarians and the Rotary organization to work toward settling conflict and spreading hope and peace.   READ MORE...

History and Current Events Fellowship
We meet next on Valentine's Day, February 14th, to discuss history and current events after our regular lunch meeting.

How will homeless persons celebrate Valentine's Day while we Rotarians share our greetings, food, fellowship, cards, flowers, candy, philosophies, and love with friends and family? Are the plights of homelessness solvable?  Can and should Rotary have a role? Who are the homeless in Fort Collins? What are wants and needs of different groups (transitional episodic, and chronic)? Is giving a hand up or hand out most sustainable? Some want better and some do not.

See this excellent Fort Collins website about homelessness for definitions, providers, and frequently asked questions.
