How much should we worry about the US Government Debt?
This Wednesday at noon, September 8th, we welcome Daniele Tavani as our featured speaker at the Lincoln Center. His presentation will focus on: 1) the evolution of US debt since the 1970s; 2) the debt-GDP ratio as a measure of fiscal space for the US economy; 3) the notion of fiscal sustainability, in order to assess whether the current fiscal trajectory of the US is a cause for concern. READ MORE...

If unable to attend at the Lincoln Center, please join on Zoom.

RECAP: Federal Budget:  COVID in the Shadow of Debt
On September 1, Phil Smith, the National Field Director of The Concord Coalition, gave us a Zoom presentation that he subtitled “Federal Deficits & Debt: An Unsustainable Future”.  He started by emphasizing that the Concord Coalition is a non-partisan, mostly volunteer, organization with established groups all across the country that focus on educating and empowering citizens as to both the drivers and the ultimate results of the U.S. government’s fiscal policies.  In his presentation, he tried to show the projected medium- to long-term debt results of the government’s taxing, spending, and borrowing. READ MORE...

RECAP: Trends in Responsible Investing
It was great to have one of our own members, Kevin Davie, speaking to us last Wednesday evening. Kevin discussed trends in responsible investing. Environmental, social, and governance data and decisions have never been as prevalent in the business and investment landscape as they are today. Kevin shared the following documents after his talk with more information.

History Fellowship
Immediately following our our noon Lincoln Center meeting on the 8th, our History Followship will meet.  The topic this week will be 'Afghanistan.' John Roberts, a retired State Department official, will keynote our discussion of that nation, past and present.
Making a Difference with the Food Bank
Great Saturday morning volunteering at the Food Bank for Larimer County. We packaged bakery items, snacks, loaded grocery carts with food, delivered the food carts to clients’ vehicles and provided free kids meals. There was a steady stream of vehicles; we know we made a difference! This is a quarterly volunteer opportunity for our Club. Our next service time will be on Saturday, December 4th from 9:30-noon.
Thanks Rotarians!
