Robert “Rob” Marschke gave his classification talk by stating that he is a native of Indianapolis, Indiana where he attended High School.  He did spend one year of High School in Honolulu, Hawaii as an exchange student.  He graduated from the U. of Wisconsin with a major in Zoology and a minor in Chemistry.. Then he attended Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas and graduated cum laude.  His internal medicine residency and medical oncology were completed at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.  For many years Dr. Marschke was a member of the medical staff of Mayo Clinic in Arizona where he held the position of Chairman of the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology...
 
He recently retired from the U. of Colorado Health system, where he was involved in oncology research as a member of that staff.  He is the author or co-author of a number of peer-reviewed medical journal publications.  His continued his professional activities as retired medical staff at Poudre Valley, auditor of cancer research clinical trials for the National Cancer Institute , and a member of the Poudre Valley Hospital Foundation Board.   He said that he and his wife of 44 years, Diane, have lived in Wisconsin, Texas, Minnesota, South Dakota, Arizona and finally Colorado.  They enjoy Fort Collins and are happy to have moved here.
 
Rob’s personal interests and hobbies include family time, hiking, fishing, wilderness trips, exercise trips with his recumbent tricycle and his antique Model T auto restoration.  He and Diane have two children. He said that he is proud to be able to join our Rotary club and thanked his neighbor, Judd Harper and sponsor Kevin Unger for giving him the opportunity to be service in our community and in the world.
