Welcome, and thanks for attending our first Rotary Fort Collins Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Fellowship.  Welcome especially to any non-Rotarians and members of other Rotary Clubs.  Please feel free to invite friends and anyone interested in understanding more about DEI and what we can do as individuals and groups.
Thanks especially to Dr. Cori Wong (Positive Philosophy Consulting, LLC, https://coriwong.com/), for leading our first fellowship event.  A few notes from Cori’s talk:
·To create a positive vision for action, focus on three questions:
What are we working towards?
Why are we doing this work?
For whom are we doing this work?
·Move from a scarcity mentality to an abundance mentality
·Focus on choices to change, and intentional action – say ‘yes’ to change
·Focus on the “margins of the margins” – those least served and most in need.
·Cori closed with a challenge and an opportunity:  She asked, For those we serve, “How can we make it easier for them to get what they need?”

From that challenge the Fellowship discussed what that means and what we can do.  From Zoom Chats and the discussion, the following emerged:  “Our current procedure for accepting community grants is that those who desire must propose to us.  Perhaps we need to seek out needs and propose, with those persons, how we can serve best.”  Members of the IPG and Community Grants committees seem to lead this part of the discussion.

Next Fellowship event will be April 6, probably via Zoom but possibility face to face at 1:00.  Topic TBA.

Feedback appreciated.
