He then moved to St. Paul, Minnesota which has Rotary Club #10 where it took 22 months for him to clear their Classification quota. Between 1966 and 1978 he chaired every major committee and declined his nomination to be president because of his academic responsibilities. He then moved to Pullman Washington from 1978 to 1985. It was there he received his first Paul Harris Fellow of which he now holds 25 to include every child and grandchild. In 1985 he came to Fort Collins and CSU. Landis is basically the one responsible for bringing RCFC into the digital world.

- * He switched club from film photography to digital and later went back and made digital recorder all the previous slide film images.

- * Lannie still attends all BOD meetings as Attendance Chair. He initiated using computer for reporting of attendance to Rotary International and as recently as 2013 he switched us to a barcode system for taking attendance.
During 2014 he still got in 61 rounds of golf. You don’t have to be around Lannie long to know he is very precise and goal oriented and has a unique sense of humor.He closed our interview with this statement. “Just so everyone knows, if I make it to 99 I would be willing to being a vegetable for a year so I could say I made it to 100.
