This Wednesday, October 5 at ~1:10 PM, Dr. Bob Lawrence, CSU Professor Emeritus of Political Science, will present a brief history of Civil Rights in the US, focusing on Bill of Rights, the 14th Amendment and relevant major Supreme Court Cases.  The presentation and discussion will start right after the Noon Rotary Club meeting ends, in the Columbine Room at the Lincoln Center.  The Fellowship is sponsored by all 4 Fort Collins Rotary Clubs and open to all.

Dr. Lawrence followed his B.S. in Journalism from Kansas State University with service as an Air Force intelligence officer.  Always one to balance allegiances, he then earned his M.S. and Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Kansas.  Post doctorate, Bob became a research analyst at national security think tanks Hudson Institute and the Stanford Research Institute, while earning tenure at both Texas Tech and University of Arizona.  He joined CSU in 1971, and continuing to balance allegiances; for ten of his 35 years at CSU he taught at CSU in the morning and CU in the afternoon.  Dr. Lawrence is recognized regionally and nationally as an expert on military, strategic, diplomatic, and other topics of acute interest during the Cold War years.  His many books are on American government, arms control and disarmament, ballistic missile defense, energy policy, the utility of nuclear weapons and their proliferation.  Amy Parsons and a group of Dr. Lawrence’s former students have established the "Bob Lawrence Gateway to Law School Scholarship" in his honor.

Bob and his wife Elaine raised four daughters, three of whom were adopted from China.

All Fellowship attendees are also invited to join the Noon Rotary meeting and lunch, starting shortly after 11:30, in the Columbine Room at the Lincoln Center.  If you do not regularly have lunch with the Noon Rotary, Please RSVP using this website: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/rsvp-noon-beverage-category-lunch-guest-or-evening-members-lunch-tickets-377454415317  (RSVP is only requested if you plan to join for lunch.)
