Shelly Godkin introduced Major Tom Medland of the Air Force Detachment 90 ROTC group at CSU to introduce the Cadet of the Month. Shelly gave the background of Major Medland as an officer who enlisted and rose in the ranks to his current position. Major Medland then introduced Cadet James Frey as the Cadet of the Month and that his selection was an easy one. Cadet Frey is a Sophomore Civil Engineering student with a GPA of 3.54. Major Medland said that he has a very positive attitude toward the ROTC program and is an outstanding example to the other cadets...

Cadet Frey thanked us for the honor. He said that he is originally from Albuquerque and later moved to Rye Colorado. At an early age he decided that service to our country was his goal and an appointment to the Air Academy was a target. He did not achieve that target, but has really enjoyed his career in ROTC at CSU. He said that he is an Eagle Scout and participated in several sports in high school. He hopes to be a Civil Engineering Officer in the Air Force. He also said that members of his Family are in Rotary. He thanked us for the honor.
