After hearing the description of this award, the Rotarian selected for this honor will come as no surprise to the members of RCFC.

After receiving Masters and Doctorate degrees at Univ of California Berkley,he became a professor of Fluid Mechanics and Wind Engineering at CSU. He authored 320 scientific reports and Papers. He has received multiple professional recognitions including a Clean Air Fellowship from the Environmental Protection Agency, a Fulbright-Hays Grant, and the Abell Research Award given by students in the College of Engineering. He is a prominent member of the Colorado State Society of Senior Scholars...

Our Club also knows him for his scholarly presentations of Rotary history relating to the Rotary Wheel, pins, and Codes of Conduct. We have been entertained by his dazzling PowerPoints and unique sense of humor relating to Colorado Bats and Rattlesnakes, and the history of Jack Slade..

He was sponsored by John Raich when he joined our club in 1990. In 2000 he became the leader of RCFC Scholarship Program. Each year about 60 applications are reviewed after being screened by counselors in the Poudre School District and Front Range Community College. Applicants are evaluated based on:

• family size and income,
• scholastic achievement,
• Community Service,
• and demonstrated leadership ability
• 8-10 scholarships are then awarded for attending Colorado schools including FRCC. Each provides $1000 per semester for the first year.
