Contact: Audrea Kappert at akappert@1stnationalbank.com or 970-495-9477

The Rotary Club of Fort Collins, in addition to substantial support for the Children’s Garden and the Inspiration Playground projects, plans to donate $18,000 to other local non-profits and is seeking grant requests. Rotarians have a long history of giving back to the community and the grants program is just one example.

Local non-profits that would like to request grants can obtain a grant application by using the link below. For more information about the process, they may contact (see phone and e-mail above) or the Rotary Community Grants Committee, c/o Audrea Kappert, First National Bank, 215 W. Oak, 1st Floor Tower, Fort Collins, CO 80522.

Grant requests should be limited to no more than five pages, including the one-page application summary form. To be eligible for assistance, non-profit agencies must submit an IRS 501(c)(3) designation (one copy, not to be counted as one of the five pages.) Funds can be used for capital items, or special projects or services. The Committee will look for innovative projects to address local needs. Funds cannot be used to retire debt, assist specific individuals, or duplicate an established project in the community.

The deadline for grant applications is 11:00 PM Sunday, February 28th. Postmarks will not be considered. Applications should be sent or delivered to:

Rotary Community Grants Committee, c/o Audrea Kappert, First National Bank, 215 W. Oak, 1st Floor Tower, Fort Collins, CO 80522.

The committee makes recommendations to the Rotary Club Board of Directors and grant recipients will be announced and checks distributed at the Rotary luncheon April 21, 2010.

Please adhere strictly to our request above for no more than 5 pages, and provide us with four copies of the 5-page proposal. A single copy of the 501(c)(3) is all that is needed. Only five pages will be distributed to the Committee members.
