Give a gift to the Legacy Fund to commemorate a special occasion (birthday, anniversary, grandchild, promotion, retirement) or significant person that will have a lasting impact by supporting our Club’s many charitable activities. Ask Jud Harper how to designate a Legacy gift and about the many types of gifts which can be given.
Jean Lamm is chairing the committee to help move the “gear” of the Rotary Club to the Drake Center.
Please don't forget! This week kicks of the new weekly meeting location for our club. We will meet in The Drake Center at 802 West Drake Road. Our central location in Fort Collins, north of Drake Road and East of Shields Street, will make it easy to find and park in our huge lot. Come a few minutes early if you are unfamiliar with this event center and forgive any omissions as we settle into our new location.
This week Beer Town meets Colorado Wine, for a presentation promised to be “filled with everything you didn’t know about Colorado’s winery and tasting room scene, as well as some ideal accoutrements to round out your entire experience”.Author Paula Mitchell will be introduced by Past President Bill West.
Here are a few facts about Colorado’s wine scene.
Colorado enjoys over 135 wineries and tasting rooms
Wine production in Colorado dates back (officially) to 1899
Colorado’s vineyards rest between 4000 and 7000 feet, making them the highest in the Northern Hemisphere

Paula Mitchell grew up in Niagara Falls, NY and moved to Denver in 1976. She is married with two daughters. She combined her interest in wine, and passion for Colorado into a guidebook, Exploring Colorado Wineries - Guidebook & Journal. Before writing the first edition she traveled all around Colorado, conducted “wine exploring” presentations, attended numerous wine festivals and earned her Level 2 Sommelier certification. Her objective is to help readers discover Colorado through wine, and promotional material says her book contains “everything you need to know about Colorado wineries, cideries and meaderies”. Books will be available for purchase.

Learn everything about Rotary that you didn't know you didn't know, and meet Rotarians from around your region to exchange ideas! Pssst ... you don't have to be an officer to attend, and attending doesn't sentence you to a leadership role in the near future.
RLI believes that excellent CLUB leadership (all types of club leaders) is essential to the future of Rotary in a complex and fast changing world. Most Rotarians have not been exposed to the great scope of Rotary around the world nor had the opportunity to meet other Rotarians to discuss specific ways we can all move Rotary forward.
** Please note this is a Friday evening and Saturday all-day program, enabling you to "graduate" from RLI all in one weekend!** Dinner Friday and lunch Saturday will be provided. The program runs from 5:30 to 8:30 pm on Friday and 8:30 am to 4:00 pm Saturday.
Learn about the evolution of Rotary and its activities in the world.
Discover leadership strategies for your club, work, or other volunteer activities by participating in interactive discussion.
Best of all, fulfill one of the key purposes of Rotary by networking with Rotarians from across the District.
**If you've already attended, please personally invite a club member you believe would benefit from joining RLI.
The overriding goal of the courses for club Rotarians is to create ENTHUSIASM for Rotary by opening up to them the world of Rotary outside of their own clubs and also showing them the great potential of Rotary service for the benefit of the world that can be furthered with excellent leadership in our clubs.
Graduates of RLI bring a greatly enhanced background in Rotary when they serve in their club or represent Rotary in their community.
