Wednesday it’s time for our annual change of leadership, when Past President Bill West MC’s a light roasting of outgoing President Stacy Plemmons, and we induct 2016-2017 President Glenn Schmidt.
 
 
 
Incoming President Glenn R. Schmidt joined the Rotary Club of Fort Collins in 1995 (sponsored by Lanny Boyd).  He has served as Director, Chair of the Rural Urban Committee and on several other committees.  He is a regular participant in highway cleanup, Four Way Test programs and fellowship activities.
 
Glenn, professor emeritus in CSU’s Department of Animal Science, graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, earning B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in 1965, 1968 and 1969, respectively. He served on the faculty of the University of Illinois from 1971-1979 before accepting the position at CSU.  He has received the CSU CSURF Researcher of the Year, Agriculture Meritorious Teaching Award and the Pennock Distinguished Service Award, and received national awards from the American Meat Science Association (including the lifetime achievement Pollock Award) and the American Society of Animal Science. He served as a visiting scientist in New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands and worked on foreign aid assignments in Indonesia, the Philippines, Armenia, Russia and the Macedonia.  Glenn and his wife Jean have been married 49 years and have 2 adult sons and 5 grandchildren.
 
To-be Past-President Stacy Plemmons joined Rotary in 2002 in Apia, (Western) Samoa, transferred to RCFC in 2004, and has served on the Rotogear, Programs, 4-Way Test, Finance, World Community Services, Sergeant at Arms and the club and District PR committees.  He was elected to the RCFC board in 2012 and serves on the boards of Project Self-Sufficiency, and Community Radio for Northern Colorado (KUNC).  Stacy and his wife of 47 years, Nancy, have two grown sons, and enjoy travel, biking, scuba diving, reading and gardening.
