Due to increased revenue and strong fiscal management, in October the Board was able to finish funding all of RCFC’s Service Projects and allocated funds for long-term reserves.  They also approved Essi Shahmardian for Honorary Membership.  In December the Board voted to terminate 3 members for non-payment of dues, appointed Rob Marschke to complete Jaime Heveron’s term, and affirmed the appointment of Dave Stewart and Kelso Kelly to lead our Programs Committee.  Read more….

Happy New Year Rotarians,

Due to the holidays, the board combined the November and December Board meetings.  Here’s a quick synopsis of both the October and December Board of Director’s meetings.  Full board minutes will be posted on Club Runner when approved.

Membership:  Membership drives our Service mission, and RCFC has inducted 18 new members since July 1, including 19 now attending the Satellite meetings.  Thanks Rotarians!
Long-time member Essi Shahmardian was approved for Honorary Membership, and will be so honored soon.  The STARS Program for new members is under revision, and announcements will be made soon.

Finances:  57% of our Charitable activities and 100% of our operating costs are funded by Members, and the Board thanks all RCFC Members who contribute their time, talent, and/or treasure.  After reviewing our current financial reports and revenue updates, the Board was able to fully fund all of our Service Projects requested during the spring “Zero-Based Budgeting” exercise.  $5350 of the incremental funding came from the RCFC Legacy Fund – Thanks to the Legacy Fund Trustees’ due diligence and prudent management.  Final budget amounts for those committees who saw an increase from July are as follows:
  • Community Grants                                                     $30,000
  • STEM                                                                         $2,500
  • RYLA/YRYLA                                                               $5,400
  • 4H/FFA R/U Scholarships                                              $3,000
  • College Scholarships                                                   $20,500
  • Teacher of the Month (new)                                          $2,000
All other items on the July 2015 budget remain the same as previously approved.  Due to collections of past dues and conservative fiscal management, the board was also able to allocate $20,015 for RCFC Reserves, kept for a future need or ‘rainy day’.

It was affirmed that Satellite members should be charged $13.50 for meals when they attend Wednesday meetings.

Accounts Receivable:  The Finance Committee identified a few members with significant overdue bills, and during the December meeting, the Board voted to terminate 3 of those for non-payment/non-response.  All members are asked to check Club Runner for any outstanding balances, and work with the RCFC Treasurer to get caught up.  For details, go to Club Runner > Member Area, look for My Club Runner, and click on My Billing Account Balance.

Board Change:  Due to the time necessary to start her own business, Jaime Heveron asked to step down from the board, effective December 31.  This was Jaime’s second time on the Board, and has been an invaluable asset helping establish many of our accounting practices and our RCFC Charities 501.C.3.  She will remain on the Finance Committee.  The Board appointed Rob Marschke to fulfill Jaime’s term.

Programs Committee:  Will Reynolds has asked to step down as Programs Committee chair after 3 years.  He has led the committee to develop and implement strong processes, and the board thanks Will for his leadership.  The Board Affirmed Dave Stewart (Chair) and Kelso Kelly (Co-Chair) to replace Will.

Please contact any board member for details on anything above, or any other question.
Yours in Rotary Service,
