The third Thursday of each month the RCFC board of directors meet at the First Bank conference room, on Timberline, just south of Drake.  All Rotarians are always welcome.  This month Rotarian Maegan Batson joined us, fulfilling her Blue Badge requirement.

Here’s a quick synopsis of the meeting...

It was also announced that Maegan has volunteered to head up our external communications/Public Relations function.  Welcome Maegan!  Full board minutes will be posted on Club Runner when approved.
Finances:
  • Overall the club is in good shape financially, due to some prudent measures the board has taken.
  • We have discovered an error in member’s 4th quarter bills.  Meals were accidentally billed at $195 for the quarter, rather than the budgeted $169 per quarter.  The extra $26 will be credited on the Q1 bills.  For all drop-in meals, including guests, visiting, or Senior Active Rotarians, the meal charge remains $15 per meal.
District Conference:
  • For the District Conference at the Marriott, June 18-21, RCFC has been asked to provide a gift basket for the silent auction.  Judy Boggs has volunteered to coordinate, but needs some help.  Any Rotarians with ideas or items that might be included, please see Judy.
  • Because of the District Conference, the June board meeting will be delayed one week, to June 25.
Satellite Membership:
  • Great news!  Jamie Heveron reported that at the Satellite’s Wednesday meeting, there were more prospective Rotarians than Rotarians.
  • After discussion, the board outlined a general philosophy regarding interaction between the Satellite and Wednesday functions.
    • All Satellite members are by definition members of the Wednesday fellowship, and as such we should avoid any duplication of services or projects.  Our strength lies in unity, not separation.  Satellite members are encouraged to support RCFC Charitable and Service activities both financially, and by joining, actively participating and taking leadership on any Committee, action team or fellowship initiated either by the Wednesday fellowship or the Satellite fellowship.  Members should be guided by their passion, not their meeting preference.
    • The key is not ‘ownership’ but leadership.  All are welcome, all the time.
    • Satellite membership may choose to initiate completely new projects, and are encouraged to invite Wednesday members to join them in those efforts.
Please contact any board member for details on anything above, or any other question.
All the Best,                                          Stacy, President Elect
